Senior College Subjects | 國際高中課程

    The Senior College offers rigorous A-levels and AP subjects, which are particularly well-respected by leading universities around the world. Success in these subjects will prepare students for university study at excellent Higher Education institutions in the US, UK and beyond.

    These subjects give students plenty of scope to study a good range of academic subjects. Come and talk to us about the subjects which are best for you – we can give you excellent advice about the subject combinations that are best for particular university courses and careers.

    Foundation Year | 基礎(chǔ)課學(xué)年

    A focus on English, students study a range of subjects designed to prepare them for A-levels study in Year 2 and 3 along with SAT and AP. In teams, students also participate in ongoing group projects designed to foster collaboration and student-driven learning.

    一年的重點是英語基礎(chǔ)。學(xué)生通過學(xué)習(xí)一系列科目，為二年和三年的A-levels課程、SAT和AP考試做準(zhǔn)備，并通過完成一系列小組課題，鍛煉協(xié)作能力及以學(xué)生個人學(xué)習(xí)能力。

    Year 2 | 高二

    Core components | 主修內(nèi)容

    In your second year, you will continue to study Languages, Academic Skills and University Guidance. You will also begin your A level work in earnest. Most students choose four A level subjects in their first year. This gives you a good breadth of subjects to study and enables you to see where your talents and interests really lie.

    You may continue to study AP units or an EPQ. You can also continue to choose from the optional enrichment activities and we hope that you will take full advantage of this. The best students – and the ones who are most attractive to many universities – are those who get involved in a broad range of meaningful activities. If you did not take History of Wisdom in your Foundation Year, then you must take it this year. It will give you a very

    學(xué)生可以選擇繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)AP 或EPQ科目，也可以選擇繼續(xù)參加課外課程活動。那些吸引大學(xué)的學(xué)生通常都是積極參加有意義的課外活動的學(xué)生。如果學(xué)生在高一沒有選修History of Wisdom?? (智慧史), 那么學(xué)生將在高二把這門課程做為必修課之一。這門課程可以幫助學(xué)生拓展知識面，確定對某個特定科目的興趣。

    Year 3 | 高三

    In your third year, you are likely to drop one of your A level subjects and take the remaining three on throughout this year. Whilst good universities want to see that you have studied a breadth of subjects in the first year of your A level course, no university will expect or want you to take more than three subjects in the final year. As you approach university study, it is vital that you specialise more and more: focusing on three subjects allows you to go into the depth necessary as a preparation for undergraduate studies.

    As before, you will continue with your core components: Languages, Academic Skills and University Guidance. You will also take part in the enrichment programmes. You will certainly find that you need to balance your hard academic work with some time relaxing and pursuing one of our exciting enrichment programmes!
